How the kit works

Eco Tabs wash fabrics and remove stains. Citric acid, dissolved and poured into the fabric softener compartment, performs the descaling function typical of a fabric softener: it reduces water hardness and neutralizes alkaline detergent residues, helping fabrics feel softer to the touch.

EU Ecolabel certification

Eco Washing Machine Tabs have the EU Ecolabel certification, the official environmental label of the European Union (EC Reg. 66/2010). It certifies that the product has a reduced environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle, while ensuring verified technical performance.

To some extent, and it is right to be clear about the difference. What citric acid does in laundry: it sequesters the limescale from the wash water, neutralizes alkaline detergent residues, and reduces fabric stiffness caused by calcium deposits. In hard water (as in many areas of Italy, including the North), the effect is clearly noticeable: the laundry feels softer to the touch and less "cardboard-like". What citric acid DOES NOT do: it does not deposit a lubricating film on the fibers (a typical function of traditional fabric softeners) and it does not scent the laundry. In short: if you find the laundry stiff mainly due to limescale, citric acid can functionally replace fabric softener. If you are looking for the intense fragrance and "cottony" feel of traditional fabric softeners, citric acid will provide a different, more natural, less "cosmetic" effect on the laundry.
