They are two products designed for different needs. Here is the guide to choosing. Solid Moisturizing Shampoo (this product): Pure shampoo: washes and cleanses the hair, but does not condition It contains apricot and jojoba oils — light nourishment during cleansing Ideal if: you want to pair it with an R5 Solid Shampoo + Conditioner for a complete two-step routine, you have normal or slightly dry hair, you want to control cleansing and conditioning separately 2-in-1 Shampoo with Conditioner: Cleanser + conditioner integrated into a single product With cherry and sunflower oils and conditioning proteins Ideal if: you want to simplify your routine with a single product, you have dry hair that requires conditioning but you do not want two products, you prefer a quick step in the shower
Yes, the product is also suitable for frequent washing, but with some considerations. Why it is suitable for frequent use: Gentle surfactant (sodium coco-sulfate, not SLES), cleanses without harming the scalp 98% natural formula, without build-up silicones pH-balanced, helps maintain scalp balance Our general advice: Most people do not need to wash their hair every day. 2-3 times a week is sufficient for most hair types. Washing too frequently can stimulate sebum production (rebound effect) and dry out the lengths. But if you have intense physical activity, very oily hair, or specific professional needs, daily washing is possible with this product
Yes, the motion is a bit different, but it only takes 2-3 uses to get used to it. A solid cosmetic is a concentrated formula without water (or with a minimal amount). The water that normally makes up 60-80% of a traditional liquid shampoo or shower gel is replaced by the shower water: you wet the product, a lather is created, you apply and rinse as you would with a traditional cosmetic. The 3 steps: Activate: pass the solid under running water or rub it between wet hands until a creamy lather is formed Apply: distribute over wet hair and/or body and massage gently Rinse and store: rinse thoroughly, then leave the solid to dry in a ventilated area or in the open R5 solid holder with drainage Why "solid" does not mean "less effective": the same concentration of active ingredients you would find in a 250/300 ml bottle is concentrated in a 70 g solid. An R5 solid cosmetic averages about 60 uses, its lifespan depends on the frequency of use, the length of the hair, and the method of storage. Practical tip: after the shower, leave the solid in a dry and ventilated place. Never leave it immersed in water, even partially, as this accelerates its consumption and can promote moisture retention
There are three main reasons, with honesty about the compromises. 1. Plastic reduction An R5 solid of 70 g averages about 60 uses and replaces a traditional 250-300 ml bottle. On an annual basis of regular use, for every solid product purchased, at least one plastic bottle is avoided. If you multiply by all shower cosmetics (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, face), the overall impact becomes significant over time. 2. Less water transported Liquid cosmetics contain on average 60-80% water, an ingredient that has an energy and environmental cost in transport. A solid weighs less and takes up less volume 3. More concentrated ingredients Without the "diluting" water, every gram of solid is richer in functional ingredients (oils, butters, surfactants, extracts). The result is a more concentrated product per unit of weight. The compromises to know: A different usage habit: it requires activation with water and dry storage between uses An initial adaptation: if you come from traditional cosmetics with silicones, the first 2-3 washes may give a different feel to the touch: it is normal, it is the hair "resetting" without the silicone coating A seemingly higher price per unit: however, based on the 60 actual uses, the cost per single wash is competitive with premium cosmetics in bottles
Store it in a solid holder that allows water to drain. Solids last longer if they are dried well between uses.
It means that every R5 solid product has undergone a clinical test on human volunteers in an accredited laboratory, under the supervision of a dermatologist, before reaching you. How it works: The test is called an epicutaneous patch test — it is the international standard to verify that a cosmetic does not cause skin irritation. Our protocol includes: 25 healthy volunteers who test the product on their own skin Application for 48 consecutive hours Evaluation by a dermatologist at three different times after removal (15 min, 1h, 24h) Accredia accredited laboratory: Complife Italia (one of the most authoritative in Italy) Ethical compliance with the European Cosmetics Regulation and the Declaration of Helsinki The test demonstrates that, under the indicated experimental conditions, the product does not produce skin irritation reactions in the tested population. For our solids, the result was IIM = 0 (Mean Irritation Index equal to zero) the "non-irritating" classification according to the modified Draize scale. It is not a specific test for atopic skin (atopic subjects were excluded from the study). It is not an allergy test. It does not replace a personal patch test in case of reactive skin or known allergies The claim "dermatologically tested" applies to all solids in the R5 range individually subjected to a dedicated patch test.
