Our tabs are enclosed in a PVOH film (a synthetic material that dissolves in water), which has been shown to be 100% readily biodegradable according to OECD standards and non-toxic. Many scientific studies have shown that PVOH does not contribute to the formation of microplastics. Eco Tabs are effective from as low as 50°C thanks to the percarbonate + TAED (Tetraacetyl Ethylene Diamine) system, an activator that releases bleaching oxygen even at low temperatures. Practical guide: Eco programs (50–55°C): optimal performance, maximum energy savings Standard programs (60–65°C): effective for very dirty dishes Intensive programs (70–75°C): only useful for pots and pans with burnt-on residue The advantage: you can confidently use your dishwasher’s eco cycles and get great results

R5 Eco Tabs are a complete detergent, but they do not fully replace dishwasher salt and rinse aid: Salt: The tabs already contain some anti-limescale salts, but, in general, if you live in an area with very hard water (hardness above 15°F), we recommend always using salt in the dishwasher’s dedicated reservoir. Salt is essential for the machine’s built-in water softener to work properly. Rinse aid: To get the best results in terms of shine and a streak-free finish, we recommend using an R5 citric acid solution as rinse aid. Always check your dishwasher manual for specific instructions on how much salt and rinse aid to use based on the water hardness in your area

Eco Tabs are formulated for effective washing, but they do not replace regular dishwasher maintenance. To keep your dishwasher working efficiently, we recommend: Monthly maintenance: Put 80–100 g of R5 sodium percarbonate on the bottom of the empty dishwasher and run a wash at 60–65°C with no dishes and no detergent. The percarbonate removes greasy residue and cleans the filters. In a separate cycle, put 80–100 g of R5 citric acid on the bottom of the empty dishwasher and run a wash at 60–65°C with no dishes and no detergent. The citric acid removes limescale from pipes and nozzles. Caution: never mix percarbonate and citric acid in the same cycle — use them in separate cycles Weekly maintenance: Clean the filter at the bottom by removing it, rinsing it under running water and putting it back in place.

As a general rule (which applies to any dishwasher detergent, not just our tabs), do not put the following materials in the dishwasher: Wood (cutting boards, spoons, bowls) — it warps and cracks Untreated aluminum — it becomes dull and may corrode Hand-painted porcelain or porcelain with gold or silver decorations — the decorations may come off Items with bone or horn handles Heat-sensitive plastics Antique or hand-blown crystal — the alkaline environment may make it cloudy Carbon steel knives (not stainless steel) — they rust Caution: Eco Tabs are for use in dishwashers and must not be used for washing dishes by hand
