Less water transported Liquid cosmetics contain an average of 60–80% water, an ingredient that has an energy and environmental cost during transport. A solid weighs less and takes up less volume 3. More concentrated ingredients Without the "diluting" water, every gram of solid is richer in functional ingredients (oils, butters, surfactants, extracts). The result is a more concentrated product per unit of weight.
