Love at First Sight
We met through TarmaTrama not long ago, but it was one of those encounters that “leaves a little magic behind on the table” (quote by Lorenzo Cherubini), and we knew right away that we could—and indeed should—do something together.
And so this first collaboration came about, and we hope it will be the first of many.
A perfect combination: Reuse and Creativity
The TarmaTrama project was born from the historic Lanificio Gusmini 1887 wool mill. The values behind this project are exactly the same as ours. TarmaTrama never wastes yarn: any yarn left over from previous processes is used for the next ones, creating unique, one-of-a-kind items. Leftover yarn cones in the warehouse are brought together and woven into fabrics, which are then used to make the colorful, eye-catching accessories we love so much. Previously made, but imperfect, fabric is given a new purpose: as in all weaving mills, there are “runs” (many, many meters) of fabric with minor flaws. And that’s where the idea came from to reuse everything that until recently was simply considered waste.
The material is collected, studied, turned inside out, cut and sewn to create useful and fun ideas for reuse. And that’s where TarmaTrama’s motto comes from: Putting ECO before EGO…which really has a lot in common with our 5Rs.
The Same Values, the Same Passion
What we have in common is a passion for trying to give resources a new lease on life and preventing them from going to waste. We share the enthusiasm of finding someone “who thinks exactly like you” about what can be done. And we also share a fierce pride in being from Bergamo.
