Stains, as we all know, are inevitable, but in summer, with sunscreen, ice cream, and days spent outdoors, our clothes are truly put to the test. There's good news: with the right care and products, you can restore fabrics to as good as new without damaging them. Let's see together how to eliminate the most common, but often annoying, stains: sunscreen, deodorant, ice cream, and grass . 1. Sunscreen stains Sunscreens protect the skin, but they often contain oily ingredients that leave a greasy residue and cause yellow stains that are difficult to remove. Here is the most effective method to remove them: Pretreatment: Gently rub the stain with a small piece of R5 enzyme sheet : dampen the garment and rub the sheet directly onto the stain. The enzymes help break down stains more quickly, making them easier to remove from the fabric. Leave on for 10–15 minutes. Washing: put the garment in the washing machine with your usual detergent or with an R5 sheet or tab and add 1 tablespoon of sodium percarbonate in the detergent drawer. The percarbonate is activated by hot water (40°C and above), releasing active oxygen that eliminates difficult stains (grass, wine, coffee), yellowing, and unpleasant odors. 👉 Result: clean fabric without oily residue. 2. Deodorant stains Deodorant stains, especially on light or dark clothing, are annoying to see and also difficult to remove. Here's a solution: Pretreatment: Use citric acid . Prepare a dilution of citric acid and warm water (about 1 tablespoon in 1 liter of warm water), apply it with a damp cloth to the stained area, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse before washing as usual. It is also effective on white fabrics and helps dissolve mineral deposits left by deodorants. Caution: test on a small area first to avoid damaging delicate or colored fabrics, especially delicate fabrics, for which a lighter solution should be used. Washing: machine wash with your usual detergent (preferably our enzyme sheets or our Washing Machine Tabs) 💡Result: streaks disappeared! 3. Ice cream stains Who hasn't stained their face with an ice cream cone on a summer day? Luckily, ice cream is easy to remove if we act quickly: Pre-treatment: Remove excess with a spoon or a piece of stiff paper. Pat gently with cold water. This step is important to prevent sugars and fats from further binding to the fiber. Rub a little Marseille soap on the stain so as to emulsify the fats and begin to dissolve the stain. Washing: Wash normally with detergent sheets to remove residue. ✨ Result: fresh, stain-free clothes! 4. Grass stains Outdoor games, soccer, or picnics can leave green stains on your clothes. Here's how to treat them: Pre-treatment: Dissolve 1-2 tablespoons of percarbonate in about 2 liters of hot water (at least 40°C), immerse the garment for a few hours (even overnight for persistent stains) - 30/40 minutes for colored fabrics - 1/2 hour for white clothes Washing: After soaking, wash the garment as usual in the washing machine, adding more percarbonate to the cycle if necessary. Recommendations: Percarbonate releases active oxygen that whitens, removes stains, and sanitizes. It is not suitable for delicate fabrics such as wool and silk. For colored fabrics, test on a hidden area first . 💡Result: every trace of green disappeared! As you can see, it is possible to eliminate the most stubborn stains easily and without resorting to aggressive products. However, remember to always read the garment label before proceeding and, if necessary, adapt the treatments based on the warnings and the delicacy of the fabric.
